Our Services
Beaton Management provides comprehensive wealth management for individuals, families, trusts, foundations, estates, and employee benefit plans.
How We Invest
Tailored to you. Every portfolio is built around each client's own goals and objectives. Our decisions rest primarily on fundamental analysis, supported by technical and quantitative analysis.
What we invest in:
-
Equity securities (stocks)
-
U.S. Treasury and other U.S. Government obligations
-
Municipal and corporate bonds
-
ETFs, SPDRs, and other index funds, as directed by clients
-
Mutual funds, which we research and recommend from a wide range of fund companies
-
Conservative option strategies, used only with a client's written instruction
Independent advice. We are not affiliated with any brokerage, insurance, or banking firm. That means our mutual fund recommendations are based on your needs, not on a particular fund family.
Ongoing Portfolio Oversight
Continuous review. We monitor holdings continuously and formally review every portfolio at least monthly. We review more often when needed, such as when market conditions shift, money is added or withdrawn, our outlook on a security changes, cash needs to be invested, or your objectives change.
The advantage of a small firm. Our decisions aren't held up by committee schedules or "morning meetings." Information moves quickly, so we can respond to changing markets when it matters.
What You'll Receive
-
Monthly or quarterly statements for every account, showing market values, transactions, and dividends and interest received
-
Annual statements summarizing total dividends, interest, and sale proceeds for the year
-
In-house gain and loss records, so you have individualized accounting ready at tax time
Where Your Assets Are Held
Beaton Management does not hold client securities directly. Your assets are kept in a brokerage account in your name.
-
Your choice of broker. We typically recommend a broker that meets our service standards, such as online account access, check-writing, and research availability, but you are free to choose any broker you like.
-
Protection. Securities held at a brokerage firm are protected by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), and most firms also insure the money market funds in each account.
-
Lower costs. We negotiate commissions with brokers so you get their services at a discounted rate.
-
Shared research. Research from the brokerage firms we work with is shared with all of our clients.
